What can I say about We are Voulhire: The Fires of Virko by Matthew Tysz? Well, it gets better and better.
The story was left when Hillport town was taken by our favorite Dark Mage Meldorath; and our Golden Trio formed by our friends: Galen, Rowan, and Demetrius are back at Magnum Caelum. But things are not quite what they seem. There is trouble boiling at the city of Virko. Its Lord, Venden Hrelek, is dying. He wants Virko city to be a merchant one, replacing Nobility as the only source of power, and his son Hans Hrelek,( Folcro for his friends), who has different dark plans, involving a Demon named Sod. Meanwhile, on the city of Yamon Soul, the Eiodi receive a remarkably interesting material to investigate.
In my opinion, Meldorath reminds me of a character from an old story of One thousand and One Nights, where those who were betrayed, take the power. We get to know more about the Eiodi, the Diadem of Yamon Soul, and their purpose. Then we have a new character, Hans Hrelek, but let us call him Folcro, and we learn about his dark purposes for the City, with the help of his allies: Lord Dragan, Herr Guiltrude, and Cornelius Volkuhn. We also have an antagonist for Folcro, called Kayden Morgan. I have to say, I liked the fact the Author used Arthurian Names for this character and his family. Finally, we have our New Golden Trio, formed by Galen, Rowan, and Demetrius, who keep surprising us with their adventures and abilities. I took the liberty to name them Golden trio because in every good story we have always a group of good friends.
I give this book a 4 out of 4 stars rating because the story starts to make more sense. What I liked the most was that it reminds me of the Game of Thrones series by George R. R. Martin, but with a modern twist. I was making bets through the whole book. The only thing that disliked was the use of foul language, and I cringed with some scenarios, but I understand they are important to the plot. I also did not find any spelling mistakes in the book.
The people who will find the book most appealing, are the Mature Audiences. The reason is it has Sexual Content and some Gore scenes. Besides that, I have found it is a good fictional adventure book. And the Reader will find it entertaining.
