Review by Wuoketch -- The Sins of a Master Race
People deal with different gods in life, some are known to them while others are not. Do you know the god you are fighting? Let's see the kind of god that this race is going through. People living in this race live hopelessly by fighting different gods. They have managed the Oak, the King of May, and now the god of Marat in The Sins of a Master Race by Matthew Tysz. This is the third book in the 'Turn' series. Anyone who has not read the first two books will find trouble in understanding this book.
We are introduced to various characters. The two cousins Aurora and Maron Defury who are on a mission to revenge on Marat engage in the fight of killing the gods. The gods identify themselves as belonging to Marat, the god of Haven. They engage with the trained assassins Ashley and Scholar who have succeeded in doing away with the Oak, and the King of May. For this mission, Ashley is traumatized by these gods and finds it hard to fight them. Will they manage to kill these gods? What if they don't manage? Find out what happens.
The Sins of a Master Race consist of 284 pages. The book also has 250 words per page. The book cuts across the following themes; friendship, war, revenge, violence.
What I liked most in this book was the vivid description of the characters. Every new character that the author introduced was given a great background explanation that I was able to understand pretty well.
Matthew's narration has also become something admirable and I can't wait to read any work written by Matthew. I also liked the language used by the author. The book was also narrated in the first-person perspective.
What I did not like most in this book was the slow pace that the book had. Readers who like fast-paced books might get bored with this book. This book is not also a stand-alone and would require that the reader must have read the previous books in the series. I did not like also the profane language that was used in this book. This book would therefore not be appropriate for young people.
I recommend this book to people who like science fiction as well as those who like post-apocalyptic books. I choose to rate The Sins of a Master Race 4 out of 4 stars. I gave this book a full rating because I believe this book was professionally edited and well written as I did not find any grammatical errors.
