Review by Elah Villena -- Worldlines by Adam Guest
Dreaming is a path to another world, but what would you do if you find yourself living in your dream? Will you stop living, or will you stop dreaming? Worldlines is a story about a man existing in altered worlds. Created by Adam Guest, the thrilling combination of Science and surprising plot will not let you bring this book down.
Gary Jackson is just an ordinary man, not until he started to learn how to control his dream. One night a bizarre event happened to his dream without him knowing that it will change his present life. A murder happened in his dream, but one of his soon to be family member claimed that she witnessed it and pointed him as the main culprit. Everything becomes difficult not only in his alter world but also in his current time. Things keep happening in his life, and his troubles are getting bigger, and as they go deeper to his peculiar experience, more people are getting affected.
The author uses chronological method. The events in the story are arranged in the order it occurred in time. He is using same characters in the story, but he makes the reader feels they are encountering new characters. Guest makes his masterpiece easier to keep up with by mentioning the world lines that the characters are in every chapter. The mood changes every time he changes the world line because you can feel the different intensities the main character bears in every world line.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book also involves science and psychology, but the readers won’t find it confusing because he uses simple words to explain that makes everything understandable. This book succeeds in connecting the reader to every character, so it felt like you are also carrying the burden they are enduring. Lastly, I can’t see any grammatical error that affects the story.
I highly recommend it to everyone who reads books. Underage readers require guidance because some of the events involve hurting people. The moment he introduced the first world line, everything change. The sudden changes will make you excited for what may come next. The importance of acceptance, forgiveness, love, family, and friends are greatly involving in this story and shown by the characters. The importance of acceptance, forgiveness, love, family, and friends are greatly involving in this story and shown by the characters. After reading this book, you will surely look for the world lines and lucid dream in a search engine because this book will surely open your curiosity about these things.
