Review by iknwuzoh -- The Sins of a Master Race
The Sins Of A Master Race by Matthew Tysz is a continuation of the author's Turn series. After killing the King of May and destroying the Oak, the post-turn world becomes a world where humans struggle with gods in the book. Humans like Defury Cousins had god-like abilities, and they joined with Scholar on a mission, with Ella and her pirates. The mission is to go to Marat's world, destroy and dominate transportation in and out of Anime Mea. The president of Rampart worked on a road from Interstate and Cattleprod became a threat. Anime Mea was a universe of worlds, controlled in different parts, by different people, who are vassals of Marat.
What I liked most about the book was the narrative pattern of the author, using the first-person pronoun. Each character told the story from their own viewpoint, making it a comprehensive book. However, I will recommend that those who read this book, should read earlier books before this one to enable them comprehend what they are reading. There is nothing I disliked most about the book.
It is a book where the story continues to unfold, until you finish the book. The author's illustration of characters like Dr Mallory, a scientist and description of SIMO, the academy of assassins, are commendable. This book is meant for those who read stories that continue from earlier stories, who read series like this one. However if you prefer reading a book where the story begins from the book and ends in the book, this book is not a recommendation.
Those who read about various worlds will pick this one, since this book talks about one world and another. This book is a recommendation for those who read crimes thrillers, like about assassins, since we see much of training of assassins in this book. This is a science fiction, and is meant for readers of such. The struggle for power abounds in this book, which each character trying to dominate their world. There was much display of technology and science in the book, and much craving for power.
Pirates and the use of pirates abounds in the book. Readers of non-fiction will have to skip this one. I did not see much grammatical errors and typos in the book. So, the book is professionally edited. Therefore I rate it 4 out of 4 stars. In conclusion, it is a book for readers of science fiction.
