Review by Nadia Ansari -- How To Be Successful
How to Be Successful: Think Like A Leader by M. Curtis McCoy is an amazing collection of motivational talks carefully blended with the aspiring stories of entrepreneurs and leaders. This book is the best read for all those who want to grow their presence in marketplace in order to expand their business. In short, it can be well said that the book offers a complete guidance on how to become more optimistic in approach and successful in career. The book highlights the concept on how one can better cope with failures while prioritizing available opportunities. Confessing that failure is not final; the author encloses the crux of the book in a beautiful saying,
“You learn more from failure than from success. Don’t let it stop you, failure builds character.”

How to Be Successful: Think Like A Leader by M. Curtis McCoy basically aims to empower the readers with ideas that are designed to generate person’s financial success along with a well- balanced form of human existence. The author tries to justify the power of positive thinking for potential self- improvement process. It is explained in detail how one can make difference in life if surrounds with positive influences.
The writer tries his best to justify the content in achieving ambitions, motivating individuals never to give up and inspiring them to pursue prominence in lives. Some key gems of success are identified in this regard. For example it is beautifully explained that life is merely a test. So, everyone has to focus on blessings with no comparison to others if he/ she want a contented life ahead. Moreover, there should be no ownership of misfortune. An individual should be daring enough to risk short- term comforts in chasing long- term goals. Last but not the least; practice of delayed gratification is an amazing concept enclosed by the writer. It means the resistance of the attraction of immediate rewards. In exchange, it increases the chances of greater rewards.
The most interesting aspect of How to Be Successful: Think Like A Leader by M. Curtis McCoy is the conversational and interviewing approach with individuals who actually chose to develop their careers and progress their lives in long run. Through interviews of investors, preachers, leaders, entrepreneurs and expert counselors, the author declares how one can get access to more valuable ideas and opportunities if surrounds by successful people who are rushing towards betterment while accomplishing their focused targets. Life lessons are drawn by enclosing real life stories of success.
Furthermore, the writer most specifically highlights the power of prayer time to time with the help of inspirational quotes and Biblical scriptures. According to McCoy, consultation with God develops more valuable and deeper relationship with the creator. This would definitely serve individuals to find relief and come out of many difficulties. Improvement in prayer life feeds into the overall quality of human life. Prayer and faith also help individuals to push through their worst scenarios in lives. However, this religious- centered approach keeps away the book from getting attention of non- religious readers. Due to this reason, I strongly recommend this book to the readers who believe in faith and religion.
Overall, the book is a perfect mix of inspirational stories and motivational approach that make it a worth read document for all those who want to improve the quality of their lives. I rate this book 4 out of 4 as I hardly get through any error. This book is a well presented document that would surely benefit those who really wish to enhance their overall life in an optimistic manner.
