Project Tau by Jude Austin is an amazingly well written Sci-Fi novel. When newly graduated Kalin Taylor starts college, he decides to join a fraternity on campus. What began as an initiation ended in changing his whole life as he knew it. Jude Austin gives an engaging intro to the storyline. The author grabs your attention right from the start with appealing details. Right from the very beginning, you are made aware there is violence and action. As Kalin makes a friend in Project Tau, the two join forces in escaping.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book. My favorite character was Kalin because of his personality. He is an intelligent young man who was always more interested in his learning rather than sports. When he graduated from high school, he chooses to go to SACAS due to its distance from his home planet, which in turn would make it easier to reinvent himself as a person. During his initiation, the fraternity asked to get a picture of Project Tau. Instead, he gets pulled into becoming a project himself. During this time, he became friends with Project Tau. He taught him the necessary information he was not informed. I was pleased with how the author ended this novel.

My less favorite characters were Mason and Dr. Dennison. They both were the reasoning behind Kalin's change. Mason forced Kalin to sign up for what he saw fit to escape legal problems. Mason had a cunning personality. He was always in favor of what worked best for him rather then what was safest. Mason told Kalin one thing but did another forcing Kalin to become completely different. In doing this, he was bypassing a lot of red tapes. Dr. Dennison did everything in his power to make Kalin doubt his truth and altogether forget his identity. He was a brute man and used his position at GenTec to his advantage. He would abuse his power over his co-workers against the projects for his benefit. They both were the villains of this novel.

I would rate this book a 4 out of 4. This novel is a fantastically written piece of work that is exceptionally edited. The author gives an excellent prologue that draws you into the story.

I would recommend this book for anyone that is into action and sci-fi. I wouldn't recommend this novel to anyone that is not okay with strong language or violence.
