The Mindset is a guide/bibliography of how a man named Ace Bowers, after suffering through a traumatizing poor childhood, witnessing things like abuse amongst his family, and being in fear of being destined to a future leading him on the same road as his parents, had managed to defeat the odds, to become another hard-working multimillionaire. Ace was an overweight smoker who was also suffering through depression as he was desperately trying (but failing) to build up a better life for himself than that of his family. All hope had seemed to be lost for Ace, even with the help and support of his loving girlfriend he believed he was trapped in a cycle of poverty. Until one eventful day, Ace had received news that would truly change his life forever.

The Mindset isn’t just a guide to success, but is the breathtaking collection of fortunate and unfortunate events of Ace Bowers as he looks back at his life, reliving all his troubles, and the people that have been around him during his hopeless times. Ace Bowers’ entire life story, starting all the way from his childhood struggles, to working a job paying six dollars an hour, all the way to having millions of dollars working with some of the biggest names and icons in industrial history. He also writes about how his closest friends, and most distant family have continued to affect him even during his turning point of success.

In this book, readers will learn that as long as you truly work hard, and you have the drive to work towards the goals you want to achieve in life, you will succeed even during your darkest times. In the author's chapter Millionaire Steps, Ace walks his readers through his process of moving through different jobs and ranks, starting as a security guard for a small tech company making fifteen dollars an hour, all the way to making it big as a right hand QA senior manager of Google making one hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars annually. This along with prioritizing his time with other jobs and tasks, had led him to his proudest achievement of possessing millions.

When I read this book, I was so fascinated about how despite going through all the pain, and fear, despite having all the odds put against him as he tried to build himself a life greater than what he thought he was destined for. Ace never stopped working hard not for what he wanted, but for what he needed in order to be better, not just for his sake, but for the sake of his future family. Ace proves that people who work as hard as they can now, can get a better life in their future. But what makes this guide to success so different compared to the other millions of books, that make millions more you may ask? The difference is that this book isn't just a play on chapters going from step one to ten to how someone made their first million dollars. This book is someone's real-life story, filled with emotion, dedication, passion. This book proves real trial and error even at the lowest point of breaking. This is a story coming from a man who truly started from the bottom, and worked as hard as he can to the top. But this book isn't just about Ace though, it's about his friends, and his family, his children, all who have truly possessed a real impact not just before his success, but after. If you are looking for a guide to building up a better life for yourself, there is nothing more influential, then Ace and his story.

Overall, I would rate this book a four out of four stars. At first I didn't think much of it, I thought it was just another guy talking about how he was just another low life that was in the right place at the right time. But as I continued to read this book to the end, I had began to feel empathy for this man's past struggles, and was amazed how he actually, truly worked in gaining the trust and respect from his peers, to help dig him out of the dark hole he was in, and out in a world that they believed he deserved to be in. Ace Bowers is a man to respect, as well as his story, and method to success. It was no shortcuts, no freebies or whatnot, it was all just hard work, passion, and drive.
