Life forms called the Creatures that were created were taken outer space for confinement and further study. However, things took a wrong turn after they escaped and turned hostile. They started hunting and killing every human they could find. The military and government have tried every means possible to destroy them and keep them confined to outer space. But this proves to fail as the creatures invaded a space shuttle that had traveled to Earth which the government and military are trying best to keep contained. They have no choice but to turn to Walter Smithton, a scientist who studies life forms and who is believed to have been an underling of Demetrius Zayack, the creator of these life forms. With the space station soon to be overtaken by the Creatures and those contained on earth soon to escape, Walter and his team of scientists have limited time to create a method that will completely destroy the Creatures.

Containment Breach is written by Wm. A. Yandell and is a sci-fi book about space exploration and genetic engineering. It has a dominant theme of psychology which is what I find to enjoy most about the book. The key character Walter Smithton shows proficient use and control of his mind and thoughts in everything, even the simplest situation. Living in a world that is controlled by the military and where mind readers exist, he becomes secretive and decisive after a key discovery. One in which he thinks has to do with the disappearance of Zayack. I enjoy the 'mind games' he plays when faced with the military leaders and mind readers and always anticipate what action he would take or how he would handle the different test thrown at him. Not only Walter but the author uses the thoughts and words of the other characters to aid in their development. This helps to reveal their strengths, weaknesses, personalities and goals. What captivates me most and fills me with anxiety and interest is the 'mind games' played by one of the military leaders name Bush who is also in charge of the mission. There is something dark and sinister about him that makes everyone fear him, especially the mind readers he employs and he enjoys it. He seems to have a hidden agenda and little to no goal in successfully destroying the Creatures. He puts Walter and his team through a hard time and even General Tallen who is equally in charge and who he should be working along with. The way how Walter handles Bush always leaves me astounded. The psychological theme adds a kick to the story that makes it hard to stop reading as it just kept getting better and better.

This story has exceeded my expectations of a typical sci-fi story. There is nothing I disliked about the book. The language was simple and easy to understand but still scientifically efficient and appropriate for a sci-fi genre book. There was no profanity or explicit/sexual content which made the book suitable for all. The story was clear and well organized. I only counted 3 typos/errors, which were almost unnoticeable and did not take away from the enjoyment of the story. And although the book is shorter than expected with only 330 pages there was nothing missing or incomplete about it. This is one of the best sci-fi books I have read and I certainly recommend it and would most likely read it again.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I enjoyed it too much to give it less. It was hard to stop reading and it was unique and different from other sci-fi books. Its psychological nature introduced me to a new taste I haven't experienced before and for me, that's what reading is all about, experiencing new things. It also seems that great effort was placed in editing the book.
