Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi is the 7th book of this series. It is, however, able to stand alone. It begins with Inca's family tree. We find out that Inca is a Siberian cat and the founder of Inca & Company Detective Agency. We get all the information on the detective agency and its team. Included in the family tree and detective agency we have pictures that help us picture these wonderful characters. Even though I haven't read any of the other books in this series I have all the information and pictures I need to follow the story without any issues.

This particular mystery takes place within a seven day vacation period that Inca and her family take to Galle, an island of Sri Lanka. Stretched out on the beach enjoying the ocean, eating all they could eat, and napping. Inca's human mom reads an article about a museum in Colombo that has been robbed of a valuable sword. This catches Detective Inca's attention and she must find out who done it.

The book has some fantastic illustrations and the author does a wonderful job of describing every detail. I felt as if I were beside Inca every step of the way. The story is not only full of detective mystery but also stories of friendship and introduces new animals such as Rani the sea turtle and Meena the elephant. Not only do we make new friends, but we also have adventurous stories to go with each one.

I like how the story mentions other cities such as London, England, and France. It is well written for those early readers with simple wording. However, I think the story goes on for too long. The descriptions and other small stories could easily make this into two separate books. I find this book to be professionally edited and rate it a 3 out of 4 stars only because I think the detective work was overlooked. I would recommend this book for ages 6-10 yrs of age even though any age would find it enjoyable.

This book looks very adorable! Maybe if it's too long it needs some parental guidance for very young readers, so they don't lose track of the story. Thanks for the review!

I agree. You kind of forget about the investigation but that’s a good idea.
