Strong Heart by Charlie Sheldon is a story about Tom, Sarah (his granddaughter), William (his friend) and Myra (William's daughter) who go on a camping trip with the goal of finding and fixing Tom's grandfather's grave, Bob-Bob, over 30 miles up the trail. The first paragraph immediately captivates you with the promise of a great story ahead. A great story indeed.

Initially, the story seems to have a simple storyline and as though it's all about a camping trip with Tom's troubled granddaughter. However, it is richer and more complex than could have been anticipated early on. The author's detailed descriptions of the scenes throughout the book are a work of art. There is almost never a dull moment. However, it does get a little boring when the story stagnates on excessively long discriptions of inessential or trivial scenes, especially the ones about walking through surroundings.

Nevertheless, the story's plot and the twists that come with it are nothing short of fantastic. There are very nice characters. The various traits and characters each one posseses mesh together very well to create a wonderful story with a nice touch of humor. There is some light profanity and there are very graphic scenes so reader discretion is advised. The book seems best suitable for young adults and adults.

There are many mysteries in the story that make it more intriguing. One of which is about the bear Sarah sees that is supposed to be extinct. Another is the mystery surrounding Tom's artifact, the atlatl, which Myra believes is the key to stopping Buckhorn from desecrating the historical land belonging to the natives and preserving their native heritage. The book gets really interesting when Sarah goes missing. What follows is definitely something to look forward to.

I've rated this book 4 out of 4 because it is an amazing book made complete with professional editing. The depth and richness of the story makes it very riveting and the various twists make it thrilling. It is perfect for adventure lovers and those who enjoy nature, tribal and historical themes. Those who like light mysteries and thrillers would also enjoy this book.
