Review by Kevsona -- Burn Zones by Jorge P. Newbery
Burn Zone by Jorge p. Newbery.
At the age of 7yrs, the author was news papers' delivery person. This provided him with knowledge and understanding of the streets in his home town. The author learned not to be afraid to ask for what he wanted: in his livelihood, the reward was his pay. At the age of 11yrs the author had saved several hundred of dollars from his paper-sale routine. He later purchased a large tricycle outfitted with a freezer @200 dollars to facilitate his ice cream business.
Heading out for a bigger opportunity, the author applied for a bus boy job at the age of 13yrs. This was a way of taking his professional life to the next level. Hard-work never goes un-rewarded, his parents paid for his basic needs it enabled the author to save most of his hardly earned money. Everything seemed successful to the author. As a way of widening up his venture, he got into a new Challange. It started in 1979 when his dad gave him a copy of The clash London calling. This made the author to start laying alternative music fanzines and later resold them.
He developed his own music label with musician signed in . Sadly, most of the musician died at the age below 30yrs. At then, the author made a lot of money from the music. He even extended credit to many customers. The author raced bicycles for a living from 1986-1990. In this regard, the author always wanted to get into a new challenge, just to mention but a few; he got a job at a call-room in Univest. He was later promoted. The more he worked the more he earned. His income increased accordingly and this made him and one of friend to start a company.
In his novel Burn Zone the author narrates to us the opportunities and challenges he faced as a broker, investor, real estate owner and how he managed his financial crisis when it occurred. While at it, he also brought out the physical and social-economic status that substitute across families in America. This non-fiction novel provide vital information that is applicable in real life.
Indeed, I like the fact that the novel allowed the author to succeed despite the challenges he faced like the 36 charges on him. Equally commendable, is the fact that all investments options were cast in a positive light. Moreover, the novel highlighted the problems of Racism faced by the black-American society i.e. the arrest of Rose Park because he sat in a spot meant for whites. Written in an animated tone, the novel kept me entertained as i followed it through.
I enjoyed reading the novel, and i felt it to be equally suited to both high school-aged student and adults. This book has been written and edited superbly. I did not identify any errors that will affect the rating of this book. Lastly i was impressed by the wholesome and language used by the author. My rating for this is 4 out of 4 stars .
