Invent, Innovate & Prosper is a fantastic, in depth read on how to train yourself to become a successful inventor. The skills that you learn not only help you with inventing, but other aspects of your life as well. The author has a lot of experience in this field and uses many real life and personal examples to back up his claims. It is an enjoyable book even for someone who is not looking for a career in inventing. I started the book with little interest in the art of invention and finished the book with knowledge that I can use on a daily basis. It is very well written and has a great structure that leads you through each step. The beginning of this book has a great hook as well; I became interested as soon as I started page 1. I really enjoy the kind of language the author uses in the book. He continually solidifies that these steps will help you become successful if you put in the work and want it to happen. Invention is not something that you can walk into half-heartedly. It is laying out on the table that these are not miracle solutions, but tips and tricks to help push you further while already diving in headfirst. The author really connects with you, as well. He uses a lot of personal examples in his life to demonstrate different aspects of invention and talks you through his own experiences and thoughts. It makes you feel like he is telling you these strategies personally rather than reading it in a textbook. I enjoy this kind of writing a lot and find myself retaining the information much faster when this kind of language is used. Another thing that helps me learn faster is having the opportunity to try things myself. In the book, the author gives multiple chances and helpful techniques to try all of the steps for yourself. When I started this book, I had little to no knowledge on inventing at all. Reading this really immersed me and disproved the misconceptions I had about invention as a whole. This author also uses many quotes from a range of sources throughout the book. He already had a lot of knowledge and experience from his personal time as an inventor, and his claims only get cemented further when adding experiences from famous inventors alongside his own. I rate this book 4 out of 4 and recommend it to anyone itching for knowledge!
