This story of intrigue, love, and both personal and political struggles evolves mainly around two characters. Uri Levin is in his early 40’s, married and a member in the Special Operations arm of Mossad. His fluent Arabic is invaluable and his abilities continually call him to service against terrorists. Lara Edmond, 10 years younger, comes from a line of family who has given their lives for their country. Graduating at the top of her class, and having an amazing ability to break codes, Lara became an analyst in the FBI. She learned basic Arabic, and was certified for the field as well. Her skills, gave her full access and the team she needed to break any code. These two characters come together as messages are recovered, and a terrorist attack on US soil becomes certain.

Even from the dedication of East Wind , Jack Winnnick captures your attention and your patriotic side. From the very beginning through to the last words of the epilogue he keeps you immersed in the story and not wanting to put the book down.

As the characters are brought to life and come together, you see the story unfold and the terrorist attack planned by the Hezobollah - on the US come to full light. The story is told from the side of the government agencies people and their roles and involvement in stopping the attacks, and keeping their country safe. The story is also told in part by those who are a part of planning the attack. Real life mixes in with the struggles of wars, fears and the current threat. In this story we see that these agents and all those whose job it is to protect us from all threats, not only devote their lives to this task, but also try to balance a life outside the walls build around their jobs.

Uri and Lara must break the code quickly, in order to stop the attack in time. What I most liked about this story, was the realities the author brings into it. These characters are created to be real people, with special skills but also weaknesses and limitations. A few of the past events mentioned in the book are factual, and bring even more to the story. He gives you an insight into the characters and their back-rounds without taking away from the story itself, and never drags out any chapter.

There isn’t really anything I can say that I disliked about the book. It was well written, captured my attention from the very beginning and never lost my attention at any point of the book. I give this book 3 out of 4 stars . I would recommend this book for those who enjoy a good conspiracy story, and that of a more adult age group. The book is very well written, with only a few minor spelling or grammar errors, and only a single profanity and one very light erotic scene. The story time line is easy to follow and a book I enjoyed reading. I hope he continues to write more.
