This is a story of three different couples, from different places with different cultures.
In the first story is about Elias and Malika. Elias, a Moroccan man living in Rome went back to Marrakesh where he met Malika a prostitute eight years ago.He went back to look for a break-up spell cast by Malika's mother and buried in El-Fnaa Square. Malika at her very young age agree to sell herself so her father could quit his job. Her father was a Dancer, he's dancing in the crowd since he was a child and people treat him less man. She sell her body to save money to pursue an education and get a good job and leave Marrakesh. She had been looking for a path that would grant her a fresh start. Elias promise Malika to teach her how to speak English. But he broke his promise and leave earlier than his planed. Instead, he gave her wooden box where cd player and simple english lesson material is inside, including Adele CD to help her learn english. They promise to meet again and agree to meet at the same place which is one of Adele concert one day.
The second story is about the married couple named Mariam and Yaser. The married couple struggle about their marriage. It's difficult for them to decide whether to stay together or leave each other. The couples undergo a counseling to fix their relationship. Dr. Brown a marriage counselor suggested to think back the moment that they once shared to revive the spark between the couple. Yaser thinks about Adele songs does do something on their past. He bought Adele's concert ticket and believe that the Adele concert will help them revive the memory that they are looking for.
The third story is about Nadia a single mother who struggle a motherhood and desire to be free from her husband chain. Nadia do everything for the sake of her child. She promise her son to take a trip and watch the Adele concert in Verona, Italy. But she need to passed a lot of obstacles that come her way to grant what she wants.
My trip to Adele, this book is amazing. Three stories in one book. I like the story, it is very unique. Although it is not a happy ever ending story, it does provide a sense of an end to their journey. I really love the wonderful way connecting Adele in every story, and every one of them will teach us many lessons.
I feel like disappointed when I engross in the exciting part of the story and look in the next page it was a different story. After a couple of pages it jumps to another story then back to previous one. But I understand it's the author style and what makes the book unique. I give the Author a thumbs up! And My Trip to Adele by R.I. Alyaseer, A.I. Alyaseer I whole heartedly give 4 out of 4 stars.
I remember this line "not everything has a solution, and sometimes you have to face the painful fact. Some things remain broken no matter how much of an optimist you are". I believe its true.
