This review appreciated the book and applauded the author for doing a great job in creating it. Based on the pleasant impression the author's writing created, the reviewer also did well in making me want to include the book on my bookshelf.

Great review. I love that you have been able to read some of the earlier stories and provide a comparison that even at book 7 the author has managed to provide something new and fresh in the series. It sounds like this was one of those books you didn't want to have to take the star off them for the errors, which is as good a recommendation as those awarded five stars.

This is indeed a case of a book I wanted to rate 5 out of 5 stars but I had to take a star because of the errors. Thank you for your appreciation!

Three Bullets has the feel of a captivating novel. The second positive point is that, while being the seventh Annie Steele book, it is not required to be read in that sequence. I feel horrible when I have to cut ratings only because of inaccuracies, especially when the book is really interesting. But I guess that is what the ratings are for, that extra effort to ensure an error free book. Thank for your review.

Three Bullets by Charles Alexander is the seventh Annie Steele novel. When Annie Steele receives news that her boyfriend Nick got shot and is in critical condition, she flies from Los Angeles to New York just to discover that Nick died. The fact that Nick's brother died just one day before he got shot becomes suspicious even if cops have reason to think that Nick was killed by a serial killer known as the Undertaker while his brother died in a car accident, at least officially. Grief-stricken, Annie decides to investigate on her own just to discover that there's much more than she could imagine behind Nick's murder, which puts her in grave danger.

Reviewing the first two Annie Steele thrillers was a positive experience for me because Charles Alexander showed he could write complex plots full of action and twists that kept my interest very high until the end of each of them. Developing new ideas to avoid becoming repetitive isn't easy for a writer, so I'm happy to see that he was successful.

Annie Steele was originally introduced as an LAPD motorcycle cop who later became a private investigator. This novel starts with Annie being involved in some events that show that she has contacts in very high places and her extraordinary skills. Even if you haven't read the previous novels in this series, there are explanations about all of that, so this novel's beginning works as a sort of introduction to Annie.

I appreciated how Charles Alexander developed another great plot that turned what started as a murder investigation into something much bigger. It takes a while for Annie to understand what's at stake during an investigation in which many people seem to want to kill her. That creates a lot of tension throughout this novel with Annie feeling strong emotions such as grief, rage, and frustration when her efforts get hindered.

There are more than 10 errors in the book that didn't detract from my enjoyment. However, due to their number, I have to rate it 4 out of 5 stars even if there's nothing I dislike about it. If you like suspenseful thrillers full of action like a rollercoaster, I recommend Three Bullets. If you like long series of books of this type, I recommend reading all Annie Steele novels. Note that they're targeted at grown-ups due to some explicit sex bits and some violent content.

I like what this book promises, it is dark and interesting. The fact that Annie has to investigate for herself a matter that she doesn't know about, also puts her own life at risk, gives an even more interesting touch to unravel as the reading progresses.

Annie is basically a superhero, so the author must create serious dangers for her to obtain suspenseful stories. Thank you for commenting!

I'm also amazed by how authors come up with fresh ideas, especially for whodunnits where one might think the possibilities are limited. Thank you for an interesting and well-written review.

They certainly have a great fantasy and probably know how to take inspiration from real life. Thank you for your appreciation!
