Wattpad is based around new and would be authors. I think it does attract mainly younger authors and younger readers. Some more established writers apparently release stories on Wattpad. There are many writers in their teens and early twenties, and some do go on to be picked up by publishers or successfully self-publish. Some develop very substantial followings as they release stories chapter by chapter and readers follow them and comment. I've joined and occasionally spend a pleasant couple of hours looking through what is available. There are some good stories on the site, and I think it fulfills a very useful role. Have a look yourself and see what you think.

I love using the app for my fanfiction needs. One of my personal favorites is "A Family Of Sorts", which is a great harry potter fanfic. AND MY ALL TIME favorite fanfiction, is "A Helping Hand". The first one mentioned is more lighthearted, while the second one is more of a hard hitter.

I only use it because I know of authors that will post preview chapters of new books. I have too much else to read to read much on there.

I use wattpad to write my YA novels and some of my middle grade work. I like wattpad because it is like a community of writes while this site is a community of readers. Its just good to be able to share thoughts and words with like-minded people.

I've had the same thing happen. I don't use it anymore because of that, but seeing all of these recommendations makes me wonder if I should give it another chance.

I used to use it. There were a few books that stood out to me but I don't know if they're available anymore. Most of the good ones are posting on other sites or publishing them due to copying issues.
