The One, Kiera Cass

Post by Mad4Books »

The One was the third book in The Selection trilogy. In my opinion, I believe The One was the best out of all three books! It had a wonderful plot full of unexpected twists. And with Kiera Cass' improved writing the whole story came together to make a beautiful and spectacular third and final book in The Selection trilogy. I finished this book the same day I started it. When I thought I couldn't put The Selection or The Elite down, this book proved me wrong! The One was glued to my hands! After I finished The One, I was so anxious to find myself at the end of the story. Even so, I found myself sad that Kiera Cass' breath-taking words ran out. I enjoyed reading this wonderful story with twisted plots and all, even though it saddens me to see this romantic and heart-warming tale end.

I enjoyed this trilogy also. I agree that 'The One" was the best of the three. I have been hoping to find more like them, but this type of story seems rare. I'd like more!

I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy. It is one of the few romance series type books that I actually enjoyed. And I'm very picky about romancy type of books, especially YA romance. But this one was nicely done, not too sappy and not too steamy.

The idea of a pageant to select the new queen was intriguing. And while there were moments when I wanted to slap the main character and tell her to stop being so ridiculous... I knew deep down in my heart that if I were in her shoes I probably would be being that ridiculous myself. And I think that's what I enjoyed, the fact that I felt I could relate to America.

I'm looking forward to reading "The Queen" and "The Heir".

I LOVED this series! It is one of my all time favorite series, I loved Maxon and America. Although I loved this whole series, The One was probably my favorite. There is a novel that was just released, ( and I am going to post a review up of it in a minute) that you all should check out if you love this series. It is called the Jewel by Amy Ewing, and it is fabulous! It is sort of reminisce of this series, although it has its own twists.

I know a lot of people love this series, and I liked the overall premise of it. However, the book lacked significant depth wherein there was no true explanation of the world, the political arena and how the states within the book fully became what they were. The characters were also rather one dimensional and were never fully developed and seemed to lack growth in all the books. I must say though that if this book were made into a soap opera it would make for a great one and especially so in the teen genre. Overall though I found that there was a lot to be explained in the book itself with regards to the world building, character development and plot.

Ugh. I'm so glad this series is over. It was a silly fluff read for me and I wanted to find out what happened, but I found the love triangle ridiculous and implausible. This installment just wasn't satisfying. Aspen was such a possessive jerk I didn't understand why America was so hung up on him. And for her to be so hung up on him then all the sudden just decide to stay with Maxon was frustrating.

While I wasn't exactly in love with this series, I do have to agree that this one was the best book out of the three. Keira Cass' writing was better and the plot had more to it than just a love triangle. This book had everything I was expecting from the series. Too bad it only got good in the last book. :P

Wow! I could not stop smiling and fangirl-ing over this book and the ending to this part of the series! This brings such closure yet puts a strong desire in the reader to know what happens next in the life of America! The reader can see the character growth and gets put on a roller coaster of emotions right until the very end of the book. I recommend this book to many, especially people that like a princess-ish story. I read this series in less than two weeks! The only reason I didn't read them all in a couple days was because I had school work. Read this book! Read this series!

I read this entire trilogy about two years ago and I basically force-fed them down my best friend's throat because they were so good. I am still obsessed with these books and will recommend them to anyone who is looking for a trilogy about a far off place with tons of drama and excitement!

I agree completely. The One was the most action packed and exciting out of all three. I liked how it focused on the bigger conflict affecting the main character. Definitely a page turned full of drama and intrigue, as we've come to expect from this author.

The Selection trilogy was the first Kiera Kass book that I read and honestly, I was blown away. I finished the whole trilogy in two days because of how good it was. I simply couldn't put it down. It was a perfect mix of drama and romance. I 100% recommended this book for someone looking for a book with a perfect balance of romance and drama
