Family, workmates, people i have met over the years. People who make the most of their lives despite handicaps and difficulties inspire me the most :D

Nietzsche, Oscar Wilde, Sartre, and, most importantly, I inspire myself.

Mostly military leaders ( Alexander The Great, Napoleon, Saladin, Julius Caesar..). Don't know what that says about me, though..

Just watching coverage of President Obama's speech in Dublin this afternoon and he is definitely an inspiring man & the warmth of the reception he received was amazing. Clearly a man who radiates optimism, hope & sheer human warmth & sincerity.

Another military leader who was a genius that I was always impressed with was the Apache leader Geronimo. He ran the US military around in circles for years with a few starving indians.

It's rather hard to say or to mark who inspires me most. But I can say that all the people are kind and original as well. So we can find something universal and extraordinary in every person.

Is that where the exclamation 'Geronimo!' comes from? And what does it mean when Americans say that exactly? Must look him up, because I've never heard of the man.

i have..

@restinpeices- Geronimo was an Apache chief in Arizona in the 1870's. He eventually ended up on a reservation but when he was active he was a terror to the army. He wrote a book about his experiences, you can find it on Project Gutenberg.com. edit- I just looked it up and its called Geronimo's Life Story by Geronimo.

I find it very difficult to be impressed by anybody .... if there's one thing the last few years have taught us it's that everybody lets you down in the end & personal advantage or benefit is what drives the vast majority of people. Politicians, religious, business people, bankers, superstars etc etc etc

However, while accepting that they had human weaknesses, I have a lot of admiration for Elizabeth 1, Erasmus of Rotterdam, Khalil Gibran, Mary Magdalen & Nelson Mandela ....

I suppose my first wife inspired me more than anyone. She showed me self-respect which I didnt have much of before, plus she inspired me to make more of myself than I was.

My family inspires me the most. They teach me how to be able to cope up with my problems in life and they're always there to support me whenever I have plans for my future.
