The book is definitely heavy and, honestly? I don't like the fact that all the characters are Muslims yet the author doesn't take the time to delve into the religion and discuss their faith (since Islam is complex and not a lot understand it). I think I'll pass, but thank you for this detailed review!

Yup it is. And exactly my point! Why wouldn't you address the main issue that forms the basis of your story?

What an interesting way to get exposure to a difficult topic. Eight different stories touching on the different way the country and people were impacted by the atrocities. I like to learn by reading and this book sounds excellent for providing both information and vivid stories. Thank you for the very thorough review!

I don't understand why am not intrigued by the concept portrayed in the book. I appreciate your solid review.
