I just recently finished reading Puddle Jumping by Amber L. Johnson, and oh my... Such a sweet and touching story. Can anyone recommend other books with Autistic leads in it? I've also read The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang.

Thanks in advance! :D

Have you read/heard about The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time? It's really great, and a little differently structured than a normal story. I really enjoyed it :)

I recommend the
Speed of Dark.
The main character but many other characters are autistic and they deal with autism in various ways especially like the main character and how he saw himself versus the "normal" people in the world. I found him to be the most normal of all the cast and well worth emulating. The fact that the author got most of her information on how to deal with autistic people from her own son is admirable. Thoroughly enjoyed the book and the protagonist's evolution.

Noah's Wife by T.K. Thorne

It's not what most would expect. It is about the wife of Noah from the bible, however it is not really religious.

Anyway, the main character is on the spectrum, as well as having synesthesia.

There's a science fiction novel with a female lead "Every Mountain Made Low" that you might enjoy. It's a little bit of Lovecraft and a little bit of dystopian. It is definitely a mature book that handles some mature themes (without being sensationalized or gratuitious). But it's a good read from the perspective of a neuro-divergent character.

I also really recommend The Curious Incident of the Dog in Nighttime.
