How do you make a living? What do you do as a job? Do you go to school? I work in customer service.

I am a full time college student and I work as a juvenile service officer in the house arrest program in my county for juvenile delinquents.

Right now I work at a Job Corps center, but in September I'll go back to teaching English and Philosophy at a local university.

Currently I find myself a slave in the retail trade--shackled to a cosmetic counter--thankfully it is only on a part-time basis whilst I complete my studies as I'm a fulltime Uni student.

"Whilst" isn't old time English to those of us in Australia or the UK... it's just regular English!

I say whilst and I'm mostly American.
I am a stay at home mom excepting for I don't stay home much. I volunteer a lot at the elementary school my girl's go to.

How true. But we like to co-opt some of your words and phrases because they lend us an air of sophistication.

I believe I have everyone beat: I just got hired to be a janitor for the summer.
Today was the first day of work. It's going to be a long summer, that's for sure!
