The two stories were similar in that they both centered on works of art by Leonardo da Vinci. The Da Vinci Code was a suspenseful mystery with a little romance. The Girl Who Knew DaVinci was a romance with just a little mystery.

Although I've never read The Da Vinci Code I have seen the movie and feel like there are some similarities. As you stated, there is a mysterious object or conspiracy that the characters are trying to solve and uncover. However, Ami's book had more of a time travel theme to it.
Give me the courage to get through this week...or at least a big bar of chocolate :D

It did remind me of the DaVinci code. The fast-paced action and attempt to solve a mystery. The visions were a new and unique aspect. I still thought this book was creative and not a copy of that book but there were certain aspects that were similar.
