WHO TOLD YOU THAT YOU WERE NAKED? By William Combs .
William E Combs, in this amazing Christian literature, has dug deep into the scriptures to delve into the events through which sin and death entered this world. This book has ten chapters, chronologically arranged to give an orderly flow of events, right from the time man fell to a solution to the consequences of this fall, which is salvation in Christ Jesus.
The author has gone deep in explaining most of the scriptures quoted in the book; their meaning and their relevance. There is a clearly defined relationship between the old testament and the New Testament, something that most Christians just know exists but don't actually fully understand. Before reading this book, I knew there was a connection between Old Testament scriptures and New Testament scriptures but I did not know how intense it is. The author has done a really wonderful job in expounding on this and pointing out the relevance of selected New Testament scriptures to Old Testament events.
There are very many questions that Christians ask regarding some scriptures and I can testify that I have gotten answers to quite a good number of such questions in this book. Every chapter had something new for me to learn and it has been one amazing experience studying this book. The questions at the end of each chapter keeps one focused and takes the readers' minds to meditation of the scriptures, which is a great thing. In a way, it just srirrs up readers' desire to study the scriptures, seek God's revelation and just have some alone time with God.
The book is informative, educative and empowering. The real life testimonies of various people quoted are also encouraging - they challenge readers to keep their faith strong and their hopes high in Jesus Christ. It was difficult to notice any grammatical errors and the glow was just wonderful. There are, however,several instances of repetition especially in the last two chapters. literally, some parts are just a copy paste of sections in the first chapters.
I rate this book four out of four stars. I would recommend it to young Christians seeking to grow and especially those who want to learn more about sin and salvation. It would also be a good book for spiritually mature Christians who still want to grow deeper and those who want better understanding of the scriptures.
I would not recommend it to non-christians unless they are interested in learning about Christianity.
