Review of In It Together
How do you view yourself as a person? Does what others say about you impact your growth? How can you become a better person and learn new things about yourself?
In It Together by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes helps us understand human nature. The author starts by discussing common issues like poverty and hunger. He explains that suffering exists because people always want to improve their lives, which drives them to work harder and strive for better conditions. One key question Hughes explores is: What defines us as humans? He explains that our true characteristics define us, using the example of a bachelor who remains unmarried despite changes like getting a new haircut. This analogy highlights the importance of understanding human nature. The author believes that love is the essence of humanity and that it unites us. To truly understand human nature, one must read this book.
I enjoyed certain parts of the book. I appreciated how the author explained most of the terms in a way that fit into the points being discussed. For example, the author defined the meaning of suffering. One key lesson I learned from the book is the importance of being truthful to ourselves. As humans, we must set realistic goals to avoid wasting limited resources. I also liked how the author repeatedly emphasized important points, such as the need for love, which helps highlight their significance.
I had a problem with a certain aspect of the book. I found it challenging to understand some of the non-English words, like "Cogito ergo sum," a statement by René Descartes, and how they relate to the author's main points. I think the author should provide more explanation of these statements to help readers grasp their relevance.
The book is exceptionally well edited, as I found no errors. Due to the aspects of the book that I enjoyed, I give it a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to anyone interested in understanding the true nature of human beings.
