REVIEW: IN IT TOGETHER: THE BEAUTIFUL STRUGGLE UNITING US ALL
All things related to human consciousness have been a matter towards which I have strongly gravitated. There have been existential questions that I have pondered, and I realized that some of these questions were either unwelcome, purposefully ignored, or not even contemplated. Upon discovering books outside the schooling system and religious institutions, I came across topics that dealt with self-exploration, the universal language of the soul and consciousness. These matters lit my interest in what was to unravel as a blazing journey of transformation.
In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All was a title that beckoned upon me, and I will be forever grateful to have heeded the call. The book's opening pages are minimalistic and crafted with precision, depicting a passageway exuding a soulful ambiance of divine beauty, grace, and love. The profound words of Ram Dass swiftly swept me in: "For all I am doing is painting with words, and the message being sent is non-verbal," setting the tone for the journey I was to unravel in the pages to follow. My immersion into the remaining contents of the book explored words in terms of going beyond semantics and unveiling our actual, timeless existence in terms of our conscious expression. My reading experience was enhanced for maximum effect in that I was able to directly engage with the author on his written material at any moment when a need arose via social media and the relevant philosophy forum topics. The interconnected engagement of the book's message and real-time guidance enhanced my experience, allowing for a holistic and complete sensory absorption of the conscious subject matter.
Eckhart Aurelius Hughes takes one on a journey revisiting the delusion that we need to rescue or pity our childhood friend,' Humpty," and instead positions us to look beyond the surface of life's story presented to us at face value (the eggshell). We are led to delve into what lies beneath the brokenness with love, truth, and acceptance. The shadows of our own survival in this existence are brought to the forefront with a unique take. The truth of our conscious existence has always been around for centuries, expressed in various art forms. References are made to some of these great minds of the universal timeline, adding further texture to an already moving text. I felt that these served as fragmented pieces of a treasure map, each piece coming together more sensibly with the turn of a page or the click of my mouse, allowing me to delve deeply and access the key of liberation that was forged by the conscious eternal fires of divine inspiration.
The end of this book contains 11 suggestions aligned with to author's lifestyle, providing a clearly lit pathway in unraveling the "true you." They are basically a tested keyset that can be used to unravel a conscious and authentic experience of one's divine potential. One realizes in conclusion, that we are all connected in the process of facing ourselves as fragments and also recognizing that we are part of the whole. It is clear that the doorway to absolute liberation has always been within; it has only been a matter of knowing which are the correct keys in order to unlock this timeless treasure.
Considering all the mentioned aspects, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. There is nothing in this book that I disliked from cover to cover. The editing was flawless and contributed to my positive reading experience. I appreciate that the author is working on a revised edition of the book for the sole purpose of overall enhancements derived from reader engagements online.
