In It Together is a philosophy book that feels like an inspirational book and is packed with lessons. It speaks to everyone, despite their beliefs, habits, culture, or identity. It accommodates all people and tribes, as we are united by the fact that we are all humans with consciousness.

The author’s opening letter really stands out for me because it reminded me of something we often forget, and that is that when you are going through stuff and your friends don’t seem to care, it may not be that they do not care, but they have their own stuff they are going through as well. It encourages me to keep looking forward, despite the challenges I face. The opening question reminds me of transmigration. And my answer to the question is yes; I will notice. My favorite quote from this book is “There are no shoulds or oughts when it comes to truth. The truth is simply a matter of what is.” Simply because I am a strong believer in the truth.

I love that links are included in some stated facts; it enables us to fact-check the information and ensures it is not a case of assumptions. This book talks about who you really are. It makes me understand that who I am goes beyond the value of the things I possess or my achievements because they can change. Also, I love that the author doesn’t just say to be kind to others but to oneself. Many people are trapped in their own minds because they are unable to forgive themselves and move past the hurt. And because I have struggled with this situation, I know it’s not easy to come out of it. There are many other lessons on types of relationships and self-discipline.

I will admit that some of the philosophical wisdom presented in this book was not easy to understand, but when put into perspective, which the author was able to brilliantly accomplish, it all became clear. Therefore, I have no dislike for this book, but it is filled with words of inspiration. I felt like I was having a one-on-one conversation with the author, as he talked so much about oneself and one’s capabilities and potential. This book In It Together by Eckhart Aurelius Hughes is free of error and was exceptionally edited; therefore, I rate it 5 out of 5 stars because it’s filled with words of wisdom I can relate to. And I recommend it to anyone who loves to know about their own capabilities through philosophy.
