[Following is a volunteer review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
The US is currently facing formidable obstacles as a result of the recent identification of a possible terrorist threat to the country's electrical infrastructure during a live interview with a nuclear physics professor.
After celebrating their wedding, Kelly and Tom embarked on a honeymoon journey to Honduras. While exploring alone, Kelly finds a store and, while looking for presents, discovers a secret laboratory inside. Unidentified people are pursuing Kelly as she tries to make sense of her circumstances. She quickly tells her brother, Mike McBride, what she finds out while fleeing from them. The plot develops as inquiries reveal the mysteries Kelly discovered inside the gift shop. Senator McBride of the United States sends Cynthia and her team to Honduras to conduct more investigations. Will they eliminate the threat posed by these unidentified people? Read this book to find out.
E M P Honeymoon: Kelly & Tom by Dorothy May Mercer is noteworthy because of its skillful blending of instruction and enjoyment. The author expertly combines in-depth knowledge of the electromagnetic pulse accidents that might affect the US electrical infrastructure with well-researched facts. Facts regarding solar flares and the potentially disastrous effects of these pulses give the plot more nuance and realism. The book's narrative is also expertly written and polished, guaranteeing that readers will be captivated from beginning to end.
The novel starts with a compelling idea and quickly moves between several narratives, making for a convincing and engaging read. The occasional humorous moment provides a much-needed break from the intensity. The editing of this book was nice. I came across a few errors while reading it. Also, there was nothing in the book that I disliked. The characters in the book were well developed.
I give the book a rating of five out of five stars. This is because I learned a few things about electromagnetic pulses, and the plot was well organized. It is a gripping action thriller that explores the age-old conflict between good and evil and keeps readers guessing who will ultimately prevail. I recommend this book to lovers of crime and romance novels.
