Here is my review of the book Before the Dawn by David Crane:

Before the Dawn by David Crane is a novel that explores the unlikely friendship and romance between a human boy and a vampire girl in modern-day New York City. The book is a blend of fantasy, horror, thriller, and romance genres, with a unique twist on the vampire mythology and society. The book is told from the alternating perspectives of Frank Sunborn, a thirteen-year-old boy who is looking for adventure and love, and Cindy Condor, a 150-year-old vampire who is stuck in the body of a thirteen-year-old girl and has a passion for fighting crime. The book follows their journey as they discover each other's secrets, face dangers from both human and supernatural enemies, and struggle to balance their relationship with their own identities and worlds.

The book is a captivating and engaging read, with a fast-paced plot, vivid descriptions, and memorable characters. The author creates a rich and original vampire universe, with its own history, culture, rules, and factions. The vampires in the book are not the typical bloodthirsty monsters, but rather complex and civilized beings who have coexisted with humans for millennia. The book also explores the themes of friendship, love, loyalty, courage, identity, and morality, through the eyes of the two main protagonists, who are both relatable and sympathetic. The book also has a lot of action, suspense, and humor, as well as some dark and violent scenes, that keep the reader hooked and entertained.

The book is not without its flaws, however. The book has some grammatical errors and typos, such as "frm" instead of "from" on page 23, or "being" instead of "beings" on page 67, that could have been avoided with better editing and proofreading. The book also has some inconsistencies and contradictions, such as Cindy's age being 150 on page 12, but 149 on page 45, or Frank's school being called Jefferson High on page 32, but Lincoln High on page 76. The book also has some clichés and stereotypes, such as the mean and popular girl who dumps Frank for being friends with Cindy, or the evil and sadistic vampire leader who wants to destroy humanity. The book also has some unrealistic and convenient events, such as Frank's parents being conveniently absent for most of the book, or Cindy being able to hack into any computer system with ease.

Overall, I would rate the book 4 out of 5 stars, as it is a creative and enjoyable read that offers a fresh and original take on the vampire genre. The book has some flaws, but they do not overshadow the strengths of the book, such as the intriguing and immersive vampire world, the dynamic and likable characters, and the thrilling and romantic plot. The book is suitable for young adult and adult readers who are fans of fantasy, horror, thriller, and romance genres, and who are looking for a novel that is both entertaining and thought-provoking.

I'm not a fan of romance and I might be far too old for this novel but the story has other elements that seem interesting blending horror and thriller. Regardless, thank you for your great review!
