Are running
Fierce, fierce
Throughout our land

Opposing forces
Forces are constant
Constantly butting heads
But, I am currently dealing,
Dealing with the most important
Battle of my life…

I am struggling,
Struggling, struggling
To win the war
The war for Dominance
Raging, raging
Inside me

Three different opponents
Are taking a stand…

The person I was
The person I am
The person I want to be

Deadlock, deadlocked
In their separate views
Similar conflicts that leads to
Small Skirmishes,
Civil Wars
And Revolutions

One wants to stay,
Stay in the past
Misses the carefree
Free lifestyle
And dislike change

One lives for the now
Focus, focused
On today's drama
Being pulled in different directions
Do not have time for tomorrows

One refuses
Refuses, refuses
To stay in the past
To live in the now
But, keeps seeing endless
Endless possibilities of tomorrows
And wants to open
Open some of those doors

Who will win this conflict?
Who will stand its ground?
Who will surrender first?
Who will be on top?

Will my inner conflicts ever be resolved?
Will they ever find commonality between their conflicts and reach a reasonable solution?
Will my body, mind, and soul have harmony and peace again?

Thanks.. this poem was inspired into creation after reading Fifty Shades of Greys and exploring the topic about Dominance. And of course dealing with the struggles that are found in me... Wrote this hoping to inspires others.. if they too are in their moments of battling inner conflicts.. they are surely not alone.
