I've always thought that Julius Caesar is a work of art. It's my favorite Shakespeare creation it definitely beats Romeo and Juliet in my opinion.

So much of modern drama was done by others first. Shakespeare is the father of the modern romance as well as comedy. He stole tragedy from the Greeks (read Oedipus Rex). As they say, there is nothing new under the sun.
