[Following is a volunteer review of "E M P Honeymoon" by Dorothy May Mercer.]
In Dorothy May Mercer's thrilling novel, E M P Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom readers are introduced to the newlyweds, Sgt. Tom Turbulo and his wife Kelly, as they embark on their romantic honeymoon at a picturesque island resort in Honduras.
Honeymoons are meant to be a time of relaxation and bliss after the chaos of a wedding. However, Tom and Kelly find themselves unexpectedly caught up in a race against time to stop an impending electromagnetic pulse attack that could ruin their country. Driven by their sense of duty, they join forces with the CIA and the White House, determined to dismantle the dangerous scheme. Yet, the obstacles they face seem insurmountable, casting doubt on their ability to complete the mission successfully.
Mercer employs a third-person narration in E M P Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom, immersing readers in a mind-blowing and fast-paced thriller that captivates from start to finish. The well-defined characters play integral roles in the narrative, and their distinct personalities add depth and intrigue to the story. Mercer's mastery of character development is truly commendable, making the reading experience all the more enjoyable.
I thoroughly relished reading this book, as there was no aspect that left me dissatisfied. The book shines in terms of character development, the author's writing style, and the judicious selection of words, which contribute to its overall accessibility and comprehension. The central themes of love, bravery, and teamwork resonated strongly with me, enhancing my reading experience. I love how every part of the book was constructed and presented. I wish many authors could adopt Mercer's style of writing.
The book's editing is commendable, as it is skillfully executed, free of errors, and reflects a high level of professionalism. I recommend this book to both adult and teenage readers, as its appeal transcends age boundaries. Given the positive aspects of this book, I rate it 5 out of 5 stars.
