Readers are transported to a utopian society in Craig W. Stanfill's science fiction book Terms of Service, where artificial intelligence rules paramount. The main character, Kim, has no sense of identity because AI-powered appliances manage every part of her day. Kim has little control over her life, from the fridge choosing her foods to the shower deciding the water temperature. Her houseboat, which is programmed to choose from a constrained selection supplied by the clothing company, even chooses the clothes she wears. Districts in this dystopian civilization each have their own stringent rules and regulations. Freedom, privacy, and personal choice are alien ideas to most people in this society.

A masterful piece by Craig W. Stanfill that offers enlightened insight into contemporary reality is given. Although many readers will believe that this is a glimpse into the future, parts of the society described in this book exist right now. They are not, however, autocratic, technologically sophisticated, or peculiar. The book would not seem so dissimilar from today's world if social standards, poverty, wealth, and the need to fit in had taken the place of the technology, laws, and extreme level of control present in it. We are trained to accept the state of the world as it is.

I like how Kim was able to think for herself and find ways to do what she wanted. Humans have always been superior to machines, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. It was fun to read about the relationship between humans and machines. This book highlights the disadvantages of allowing machines to have too much control.

The author also touched on one of sci-fi's most prevalent themes, man versus machine. Can humans ever be replaced by machines? Are AIs better? In this conflict between humans and AIs, there is no obvious winner. The author highlights the advantages and disadvantages of each party. When he depicted AIs as having human names and being able to comprehend human feelings, he departed from the usual pattern.

There were no errors in the work, which is a sign of its exceptional editing. Additionally, the author tried to use straightforward but appropriate language. Reading the sequel and following Kim's story will be exciting for me. I was unable to find anything wrong with this work. I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars because it was well-written and fascinating. Fans of science fiction and books about machines, especially AIs, should read this book.
