Hemingway's Daughter is my first book which tells about a fictional story from a real figure. A historical fiction. An alternate universe, where Ernest Hemingway had a daughter. I am not really familiar with Ernest Hemingway. I just knew him by the name, so I don't really know his story.

Story from Hemingway's daughter's point of view, Finley Richard Hemingway. How his father's fame affects her life and how people see her. How she tried to achieve her dream to become a lawyer. In a world that puts men first, she knows she has to work harder. And her view about love based on his father's failed marriage and flings, and witnessing every goodbyes, shape this idea of 'love always ends badly for the Hemingways'. She is afraid of love but would love to be in love, maybe this time worth the effort?

The way Christine M. Whitehead writes it really mesmerizes me. I started reading the book and suddenly I am on page hundreds. It flows really well. I love how she portrays each character, especially Finn and Ernest. I could understand how Finn feels, and about Ernest, I could say he is a good dad but he is his own person too.

I could feel every emotion, and the thrill that Finn feels. I cry and laugh with Finn, be nervous and be broken with her. Every action has its own reason, how the character behaves has its story behind them, and the character development works too. I love every detail of it. I love her word choice, and how she put every word in the sentence. I take some advice too, seeing something from another perspective.

By the time I finished the book, I had the urge to find out how Finley is doing now. I feel like she exists. This book is well written, beautifully written. I don't find any missing points or errors. That's the reason I rate this book 4 out of 4. I would recommend this book for people who enjoy stories with backgrounds set in the past, like me. For people, who wants to read about living life or surviving in life. I am always interested to hear stories from a different time. Traveling to the past. How they are thinking, how they are doing.
