One Eye or Two? by John C. Meyer, MD, and Mark M. Prussian. The medical book is divided into nine chapters and focuses on ophthalmology.

LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis, and it means laser assistance at the location of the shaping of the cornea, and it is corrective eye surgery. This book contains insider secrets from two authors who have great experience in the ophthalmologic field. It is natural for intending patients who want to undergo any eye surgery to be curious about the procedures and risks involved; it is also important that you are well informed about this surgery. This book contains details on choosing the right surgeon, the different LASIK surgery prices, procedures, and so much more. Read this book to find out more about the details and usefulness of LASIK surgery.

The book begins with a chapter describing the anatomy of the eye. The authors made sure that they started from the beginning, stating the functions of each part of the eye. The book also gives details about the history of eye surgery which was very concise and informative. Even though the book contains nine chapters, each chapter is very long and explanatory; this feature will make the readers understand more about LASIK surgery.

I was scared at first that the book would contain some technical terms, but the author’s writing style was so easy to understand. This book also contains pictorial illustrations which would guide each reader in getting the essential knowledge. It also debunks rumors surrounding very important LASIK surgery. This book helped me understand that not just anybody is eligible for LASIK surgery. So, it is essential to read this book to find out if you are the right candidate for LASIK surgery.

My favorite chapter was the chapter describing the step-by-step procedures of LASIK surgery. I love this chapter because it gave information on how a patient should prepare for the surgery and how the doctors will perform the surgery on the patient. The book also provides case studies that are essential for an easy understanding of the surgery.

Apart from some errors that I observed, this book is concise and well written. There is nothing I dislike about this book. Therefore, I rate One Eye or Two? three out of four stars because of the errors I observed in it. This book will help the readers answer most, if not all, of their questions regarding LASIK surgery procedures.

In conclusion, I recommend this book for readers interested in finding the right surgeon for LASIK surgery. I also recommend this book to medical students who are interested in ophthalmology. This book can also be used for educational and research purposes. This is a comprehensive guide for intending LASIK surgery patients.

I like it when a specialist in any scientific field can explain and simplify scientific terms to be understood by the general public. Eye sctucture and ophthalmology are very complicated, and I am thrilled to know that such a book is available for non medical students to read.

Medical students with special interest in ophthalmology will have a great time reading this book. Great review
