[Following is a volunteer review of "Firstborn Daddyman" by Frank Bailey.]
It cannot be denied that most people in the world have faced highs and lows in life. Frank Bailey truly witnessed them. The self-proclaimed First Born “Daddyman” has a desire to share his complex life struggles as well as accomplishments. The author composes this book according to his very own story, which is intended to inspire everyone to not giving up life. He was once really admirable but sadly became a drug addict after serving the army due to wrong decisions. One day when he's in prison, Frank turned his faith in God and that was the whole new beginning of him. The rest is history.
In my opinion, First Born “Daddyman” is properly written not just towards faithful Christians. General readers can accept the significance of all his experiences too. Frank keeps the overall content simple and meaningful. If you read it, the author is completely decent to himself when compiling this writing. He does not hide his failure with an addictive mentality, which destroyed the trust of many loved ones in the past. Moreover, he shared the time when he viciously ran a drug cartel. Without a doubt, I believe this could be the most unforgettable part of the writer’s life.
Although each section is splendidly composed, people may find his story is short in length. To be completely fair, I finished reading First Born “Daddyman” in mere few hours. As a matter of fact, readers would appreciate Frank Bailey’s journey more if the author could add his wife’s and children’s perspectives, not only from his. How did the family manage life without a leader in the house? Did they also praying to God or actually losing hope and faith? There are plenty of missing chapters that need to be discovered further. A quite number of readers may agree with this.
After taking every consideration above, 3 out of 4 rating is my score. First Born “Daddyman” is still distant away from perfection. The writer actually delivers strong and powerful messages that can restore someone’s outlook against troubles, difficulties, and hardships in this world. However, it feels a little brief and needs to be expanded.
Unfortunately, there is no single photo available. Frank Bailey should actually include some personal images to make his story more “alive” to readers. This is absolutely important because pictures can enormously draw people’s emotions. In the end, I consider First Born “Daddyman” as yet another nice book to read.
