Non-fiction comics

Does someone know some non-fiction books that make you laugh a lot?
It is maybe possible to write a funny biography, but the biographies I read are mostly about political leaders and I can’t remember much laughing while reading.
It is not that I can’t laugh. I just finished a fictional comic and laughed a few times. I wonder if it is maybe a kind of inappropriate affect; I merely laughed because I was ashamed of the main character. Is that the only way a book can be funny?
Psychiatric case studies sometimes make you laugh, but on the whole they are rather depressing.
Long long ago I read a book by Desmond Morris that maybe made me laugh. I am uncertain if the funny parts were totally non-fiction. The same holds for Günter Wallraff.
I read about a funny book about grammar, but because the book review I read about it was negative, I didn’t try if it worked with me.
By reading funny books I hope to improve my mood.

You could read George Carlin.

"I read about a funny book about grammar, but because the book review I read about it was negative, I didn’t try if it worked with me."

Uh, what?

I don’t know, I only read the following sentence:
Der Textsorte entsprechend sind die Kolumnen größtenteils in einem flapsigen, humorvoll gemeinten Stil geschrieben, der jedoch die allzeit oberlehrerhaften Untertöne nicht kaschieren kann.

(replace '#' with '.').

Sorry I used the wrong word. I mean humorous books, not cartoons.

When I first saw the topic of this post I pictured in my head a non-fiction graphic novel, now that would be an interesting concept. I understand your interest in a comical book; it seems that so many books we read are deep and depressing.

If you're looking for some comedy about a serious topic I would recommend "Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers" by Mary Roach. While I wasn't incredibly fond of her writing, I did find myself laughing out loud while reading on more than one occasion.

If you're looking for some comedy about a light topic I would recommend "Holy Cow: An Indian Adventure" by Sarah Macdonald. This book also has some laugh-out-loud parts to it and is relatively lighthearted throughout the story.

I have also heard of some comical non-fiction grammar books but I have also heard that they aren't the greatest. But you might as well give one a shot, if you don't like it you don't have to finish reading it. :)

I'll be interested to see what other people recommend for books. I read a lot of non-fiction and would also be interested in some comical topics. Good luck on your search!
