Get to bed, legs by A J Moore is an illustrated children’s book. It follows the story of Jimmy and his legs. Little Jimmy’s favorite thing to do is doing nothing. He ignores his friends who ask him to join them in sports. He doesn’t pay heed to the lonely boy-next-door who always asks him to play with him. Jimmy likes to spend all his time sitting in front of the TV. But Jimmy’s legs have other plans. One night, after he retires to bed, his legs tell him they want to run a mile. They don’t let him sleep until he does what they say. Jimmy runs a mile and goes to school exhausted the next day.

That entire week, Jimmy’s legs become active at night and make him play, skate and run, while during the daytime, Jimmy stays tired. He still refuses to play with his classmates and the boy-next-door. On Friday night, Jimmy has a plan to make his legs sleep at night. What is Jimmy’s plan and will his legs stay quiet at night?

Get to bed, legs tells children the importance of having physical activity in their lives. It is a satire on how today’s children prefer to stay indoors and watch TV than to play with their friends and neighbors. Through this story, the author emphasizes the importance of playing sports in children’s lives. But the author doesn’t preach about this. On the exterior, it is just a delightful children’s story with beautiful illustrations. But it will definitely give children and their parents something to think about.

The thing I liked the most about the book is its message and the subtle way the author has conveyed it. I also liked the colorful illustrations that were eye-catching. The book is written in rhyme, which will help the young readers to connect more with it.

There is nothing I disliked about this book. I didn’t find any errors. There are no instances of profanity.

I give this book 4 out of 4 stars because it is finely edited and fun to read. I recommend it to children from ages five to ten.

Thank you for your interesting review. This book touches on a sensitive issue in real life, where more and more kids prefer to stay indoors and playing games. Perhaps Jimmy's legs represent the parents' wish for their children to go out and create a memorable childhood, instead of a boring life inside the four walls.

This book's message is a powerful one, but I think a child would probably be scared that his feet will start having a mind on their own too. I enjoyed reading your review!

His favorite thing to do is nothing? I feel you, Little Jimmy.🦵🏼Although legs do sometimes have a mind of their own, so this collection of rhyming rhetoric sounds whimsically delightful! Thank you for a lovely review.

Should I say Jimmys' talking legs! This story was just amazing. I also like the message that the author was passing across.

In spite of the fact that legs do once in a while have a psyche, so this assortment of rhyming way of talking sounds unusually magnificent! Much obliged to you for a flawless audit.
