When you are in the mood for a light hearted murder mystery that feeds both your curiosities and your stomach look no further than this series. Hannah Swenson runs a bakery and has a knack for stumbling upon dead bodies. It helps and hinders her that her sometime boyfriend is a cop. The towns people love to gather at Hannah's bakery the day after a murder to hear Hannah's partner Lisa describe with incredible storytelling abilities how Hannah finds the body, as they sell out of coffee and baked goods. The characters are endearing and realistic. Sometimes the indecisiveness of Hannah between her two love interests gets monotonous for the reader, but both Norman and Mike have much to offer her. Each book is filled with the recipes Hannah creates throughout the story for you to create and partake of yourself. Most of them are delicious and a nice treat to reading the books. You won't find gore and terror and hardened killers in these books, but you can read a mystery novel without being afraid to close your eyes at night and your stomach will thank you.

I love this series. Both my mom and I read them whenever they come out! I'm a huge fan of Small Town mysteries. Also, the recipes in the back of the books are amazing! I actually got a copy of the cook book that came out with all the recipes for my mom! She loves it!

I like this series and wait for each new book to come out. The "homeyness" is just right for a dreary day read. I do get annoyed about the amount of pages that the receipts take up... I always feel cheated somehow. Greedy for more mystery I guess.

I completely agree! The books are fun and the recipes are great. The Sugar Cookie recipe (I believe it was in Book 1) is the best I've ever tried! I'm about to read the Lemon Meringue Pie Murder.

I'm reading the blueberry muffin murder and my mom is reading the chocolate chip cookie murder. These books are great - and I love the recipes that accompany the books!

I am currently seeking something a bit more light hearted. The books which I have been reading lately have been rather dark in nature, so perhaps this series is what I've been waiting for. I think I'll give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion.
