The beauty of nature and the changing seasons are celebrated in Woods, A Summer Weave: Collection of Poetry and Piano Classics – Vol VII, a collection of poetry, prayers, and songs by Jane Summers. The author paints some lovely pictures of summer sunsets, afternoons by the creek, autumn harvests, and colorful spring flowers. She also delves into the changing seasons of life and the bends in the road we so often come across. I greatly enjoyed the way she defined colors in several of her poems by the feelings and images each color elicits for her. I also liked her comparisons between the changing seasons of life and the seasons in nature.

Some of the poems I most enjoyed dealt with change and finding beauty in those changes. Her comparison of the bending road of life to a bend she sees in the river as well as the comparison of the diverse colors she sees in her irises throughout the different seasons were pleasing and thought-provoking. It was enjoyable to catch a glimpse of the author’s culture and home through her poetry. I was also fond of the ongoing imagery throughout the collection of different colors and feelings corresponding with the different seasons.

What I found most disappointing was that the lack of editing and fine-tuning made it difficult to read and enjoy. Many of the poems were hard to follow and understand due to the grammar and spelling errors throughout. Unfortunately, I came across dozens of misspelled words and many sentence structure problems, including incorrect wording and grammatical errors. These disrupt the flow and beauty of the poetry and make the meaning difficult to uncover.

I am giving Woods, A Summer Weave: Collection of Poetry and Piano Classics – Vol VII 2 stars out of 4. While I did enjoy much of the imagery and the passion the author put into her poetry, this piece was lacking in grammatical correctness. I found many misspelled words and incorrect word usage. There were also several run-on sentences and comma splices that made reading tedious and understanding very difficult. This leads me to believe this collection of poetry has not been professionally edited.

I would gladly recommend this book to anyone who has a love of poetry and nature. The author’s passion is evident. However, I would suggest that the book be professionally edited. The many errors take away from the beauty and artistry of the piece, and regrettably make it less enjoyable to read.

Somehow, I feel these pictures the author paints in the book could be painted even better in the cover. My love for colors always. Thanks for reviewing.

It's too bad about the errors because the book seems like a lovely collection of beautiful poetry. I hope the author will take your review to heart and work on the errors.
