I definitely have a hard time knowing how to comfort those who arent in my family and have often been on the other end of a lack of comforting when in need.

It’s not an easy task, I agree, and everyone’s combination of past personal experiences will play a role with how they (and we) react too. Like you, I’ve been in both positions and wish there’d have been a different outcome. This book was truly full of useful tips and advice, so hopefully it can assist many.
