Thanks for the great review. This review and the sample made me believe that this is an intriguing historical fiction. It's truly said that poor people enjoy every moment of their life in their own groups; on the other hand, wealthy people can't enjoy that way. They have their mental constraint for that. This sounds like an interesting story that I would like to read. This kind of novels give some real-life experiences to the readers. I appreciate the author for this.

A story of how poor people would make the best of a situation. It seems the tale is quite enjoyable and enlightening. Thanks for your interesting review.

The book Tales from Piney Grove by Bobby Morison is dealing with the problems that women have to face even today. They still need to save themselves from the unfair society rules that applies only to them. By going through the review, it gets clear that the book is about the unsolved issues i.e. Poverty and injustice to women.

I would definately read the book!

Hearing about other people's life stories really opens the door to understanding, not only the people but also the world we are living in. I am grateful that this author has shared his story. Thank you for the review.

Tales from Piney grove by Bobby Monson.
Amazing! The content is vividly clear on how the church is all about. Many individuals attend Sunday church services since they believe it's mandatory. However not all go with the same mission, some go to show off the strength of their wealth, in matters of new cars, new clothes and for some others it's a special place for gossiping. Nevertheless, staunch Christians who never entertain such nonsense are always present, like Bobby Morrison. Though the congregation hated him,he did what was right.
This book is the best, even when read repeatedly, one can never get bored.

I’m not a fan of the religion and church mentioned in this one. The sharcropper bit sounds like it would be a plot that would bore me. This book isn’t for me, but thanks for writing the review.

This book seems to reflect the conditions of the south, especially the fellows struck by poverty. Heartbreaking! Amazing review.

This book sounds very realistic from what I've read in this review. I'm glad I read the sample of the book, maybe I'll get to read it one of these days.

A book in the viewpoint of a Southern sharecropper family in the 1960s sounds interesting! I wonder how the incoming textile mills changed their lives? It's great to hear that even being in poverty, the Morrisons did not feel pity for themselves and didn't lose hope. However, the way the women were treated sounds horrible and perhaps a bit too sad for my taste. I'm glad you found the book to be fast-paced and the author seemed to have portrayed living in 1960s America accurately. It's great to hear that you found no errors and that you enjoyed this read immensely! Thank you for sharing!

The book is about the life of a young boy living in poverty in 1960's North Carolina.
I'm impressed by the author's writing. :D The story will hook you right from the start. The experience was like listening to old school tales by a grandparent to his/her grandchild. It seems that the author's experience still happens in churches anywhere. Can't wait to read the rest of the book :D :techie-studyinggray:

I enjoy historical fiction; the book seems interesting. Love that aspect that the poor should just be contented with what they have and not feel sorry for themselves or try and live a lifestyle which they cannot afford. Thanks for the well-detailed review.
