Raven's Peak by Lincoln Cole - Short review

Post by Sushan Ekanayake »

I only read the free sample yet. Butseems like a book with various dark rituals and monstrous activities. By seeing the fb post I saw that it is a supernatural sort of book which gives some additional value to me. The way it has written in the prologue attracted me very much. The character Reverend was well made and wish other characters and incidents are the same. With the glimpse I git, I would like to say "good job Lincoln"👍👍👍

I gave it a 4 out of 4 because I love how the author balance everything. The fight scenes without being gory, the mystery of disappearance of Arthur, Haatim's confusion and discovering things and Abigail's bravery. The ending gives you the feeling of need to read the second book.

I see that the majority here did not like the end. I think that the story about events in Raven's Peak has its conclusion and that everything after that is just the author's smart way to keep readers interested in the rest of the books in this series. I am definitely intrigued to read more about Abigail's adventures.
I enjoyed reading this book and I rated it 4 out of 4 stars.

I was hopeful when I started reading the book because the Prologue was interesting but it very quickly went downhill and I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever enjoyed a book less. The plot, the characters, the lore, the dialogue, the imagery, everything about the book was cliche and boring. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as little as I did because of the reviews I saw of it. Perhaps it would do better as a movie so that the action sequences and visual effects can drown out the very, very, very poor writing and characterization.

I gave this book a 1 out of 4 stars.

I gave this book a 4 out of 4 because it held my attention so well. I found myself wanting to read it everyday just to see what Haatim and Abigail got into next. The story was well laid out and once the story got moving it didn't stop. The action was great. The dark humor was funny. All in all the book was great. I can't wait to read the next two books in the series.

I gave it 2 out of 4 stars. There were so many editing errors and the characters were too cliched for me.

I gave it 2 of 4 stars. I really think it would have done better as a movie.

gali wrote: 01 Apr 2017, 11:21 I enjoyed the story and rated it 3 out of 4 as well. I found the characters easy to relate. There wasn't enough background on Haatim and Arthur, but it may be given in the next installment. The story line flows smoothly and there isn't a dull moment. It certainly kept my interest, though like you I wish for a more satisfying ending.
Arthur's background is in The Ninth Circle, which is not exactly part of the series but an intro to how everything that is going on in the series, began. And Haatim's is in next book, as you said.

When I picked this book up for reviewing I was hesitant. But the moment I got into it, I knew I will have trouble putting it down before completing it. In the beginning, I resented the author for having Abigail as protagonist instead of Arthur. But after finding her to be headstrong, I was glad she was the protagonist. I rated it 4 out of 4.

I read this book this book in epub format and I find the first 29 pages are so disorganized as the pages of Table of Contents and Prologue are repetitive. Nevertheless, it didn't hinder my enjoyment in reading this book and the gory details are kept at minimal, not more than 1 paragraph. So, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

This was a decent paranormal story. I liked the smooth way that Cole transitioned between Abigail and Haatim without making the story seem choppy as a result. The ending was disappointing, but as noted, a fair glimpse at how the second book will start.

Raven's Peak is an excellent book, the beginning and the end are both great. I had to rate it 3 out of 4 stars only because there are many grammatical and editing errors.
