I finished Turtles All the Way Down by John Green. 3/5 stars. Though I related to Ava, I felt like the author made her a personified version of her mental illness.

The last book I read was Shipbreaker by Paolo Bacigalupi. I rate it a 3/5. It had a really slow start and was kind of hard to get into, but there were definitely some moments that I really enjoyed. The Drowned Cities(set in the same world) is shaping up to be an improvement for sure.

What genre is this one? I love when a book surprises me like that =)
Oh yeah, it was so good! It was YA fantasy.

I read Embrace, the first book of the series by Jessica Shirvington. It was a great book. I read it in like 2 days could not put it down. I cant wait to go out and buy the other books to the series. It's a book about a girl named Violet who on her 17th birthday finds out she's a Grigori. Which is a guardian angel. And these weird things keep happening to her. And she falls for a boy is hiding something from her. And it's really detailed and it's so addicting. I found myself really getting into and always wanting to know what was gonna happen next! It's such a good read! :techie-studyingbrown:

I just finished reading Kulti by Mariana Zapata for the second time. Definite 5 out of 5. Like Krispy Kreme donut with Kreme filling and chocolate icing 5 out of 5. I take Kreme seriously.

Slow romance about two professional Soccer players. Not for you if you're not into a little age gap spice(;

P. S. I've read almost all of her novels not once but twice. Anything by her is magnificent. If you are looking for a new romance author to try it, I highly recommended her.

I've just finished two books. so I will be brief.

On kindle, Holden's Performance by Murray Bail. Witty, incisive, humorous and thoroughly enjoyable. 4.5 stars out of 5.

By the bedside, A God in Ruins by Kate Atkinson, back in fine form after the disaster (my opinion) of Life After Life. This time focusing on Teddy, a WWII bomber pilot, younger brother of Ursula, who featured in the earlier novel. 4 stars out of 5.
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

The Great Gatsby, F Scott Fitzgerald

I just finished reading Delicious! by Ruth Reichl. I would give it 4.5 out of 5 stars because I really enjoyed the plot and characters, although some parts seemed a bit contrived. The author is a food critic, so she draws on her expertise to depict a young woman working at a food magazine who has an excellent palate but refuses to cook due to something mysterious from her past. It is an engaging and enjoyable read.
