What is your favorite couple from the novel?

Angela and Alex are my favourite characters or couple. Because the story revolves around them.

Without Fioretta and Guiliano, there wouldn't have been the other love stories. That said, I found the modern romance between Alex and Angela to be my favorite. Their passion reminds me of what I felt from the moment I met my own husband.

I love all of the couples! The intensity of the love between each couple made my heart happy. If I had to pick a favorite couple though, I would say it is Angela and Alex. I feel that they are better and more developed than their historical counterparts. They have the layers of their past lives in addition to their originalities of their current lives. I do question their judgement at times though. I get that their love is passionate and all consuming but I felt that they rushed into big commitments way too quickly, but maybe that's just the cynic in me.

I would have to say Sophia Caro and Gerhard Jaeger. I like reading about the time period that their love was involved with and I think that has an interesting impact on their characters.

I would say Fioretta and Giuliano because since I'm Italian, I grew up surrounded by the historical buildings, paintings, and books of the Renaissance. I always had a fond passion for that period, and so it was beautiful to imagine their story growing up in the beauty of that time.

Of the three, Sophie was the strongest woman as well as the most believable. I liked their story because of that. Sophie was my favorite woman.

It's interesting that pretty much none of us think Angela was the strongest female character. Considering she was the main character, I had hoped she would have been the most resilient and strongest of the bunch.
