Angela and Alex are my favourite characters or couple. Because the story revolves around them.
Make your ideals high enough to inspire you and low enough to encourage you.

Without Fioretta and Guiliano, there wouldn't have been the other love stories. That said, I found the modern romance between Alex and Angela to be my favorite. Their passion reminds me of what I felt from the moment I met my own husband.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

Gerhard and Sophia would have to be my favorite, because they took so many risks for each other.

I love all of the couples! The intensity of the love between each couple made my heart happy. If I had to pick a favorite couple though, I would say it is Angela and Alex. I feel that they are better and more developed than their historical counterparts. They have the layers of their past lives in addition to their originalities of their current lives. I do question their judgement at times though. I get that their love is passionate and all consuming but I felt that they rushed into big commitments way too quickly, but maybe that's just the cynic in me.

I would have to say Sophia Caro and Gerhard Jaeger. I like reading about the time period that their love was involved with and I think that has an interesting impact on their characters.

Definitely Fioretta and Giuliano, but the era they lived in played a significant part in my pick.

I love both types; star-crossed and "fairytale." Since, I have not read this yet, I obviously cannot choose. But, without reading, I think I may be able to tell which might be my favorite. I won't assume, though.

I would say Fioretta and Giuliano because since I'm Italian, I grew up surrounded by the historical buildings, paintings, and books of the Renaissance. I always had a fond passion for that period, and so it was beautiful to imagine their story growing up in the beauty of that time.
I also loved the story of Gerhard and Sophia due to their admirable courage, faith, and strength.

I love all the couples! Romance is my guilty pleasure. I can't read strictly romance novels for too long though, only every once in a while.

I also love Fioretta and Giuliano because of the time period they lived in. They were also an interesting couple because Giuliano defied his famous family.

Fioretta and Giuliano as seen under Leonardoโ€™s eyes would be my pick. Sophia and Gerhard take second place.

Of the three, Sophie was the strongest woman as well as the most believable. I liked their story because of that. Sophie was my favorite woman.

It's interesting that pretty much none of us think Angela was the strongest female character. Considering she was the main character, I had hoped she would have been the most resilient and strongest of the bunch.
