TONY THE SUPERHERO
By
R.D Base
Pictures are easily assimilated by a child more easily than writings; Base made use of this factor in her book to help her audience which are children get her message, the pictures accompanied by short and simple sentences used by the author are exactly what can help a child of the age range of 0 to 4 years assimilate the intended message passed across and that happen to be the authors intended audience. I agree with the format used by the author it is very suitable to her audience who are mostly toddlers and learning to read.
It is no surprise to see that the book is aimed at educating the young child on how to read and behave normally as required from an average human (child to be specific), as the author herself is an avid reader and also a mother of kids. the author is trying to help her audience to be better academically, morally and socially; by reading her book these aforementioned desired outcomes can be achieve.
'Man is a social being', so say the sociologists. although Toni the main character in the book is a super hero with extraordinary powers but he still does what the average person does and sees as ordinary things like dusting and eating. An average child is suppose to help in the house chores and not mainly left for the elder siblings or parents and through her illustrations of Toni cleaning and helping in the kitchen, the author passed the message across; kids love emulating superheroes' qualities and the qualities of Toni will certainly not be an exception and also will be helpful if emulated by kids. her source is primary due to the fact that her experience with her young kids and her pass life of the love of reading as a child gave her the push she needed to develop the idea.
The book is an accomplished work due to the fact it has serve it purpose of passing the message to its desired audience who understand picture messages easier in comparison to written message and it also spoke about how an average child should behave. I strongly recommend the book for children of 1 to 4 years old (especially those to read) to read it, it will be of great help to them. The author did a great job my rating of her work is 4 out of 4 stars, why because the language used and the message are suitable for the intended audience.
