I am reading a few reviews on this book as I have reviewed it as well. I feel as if I am the only one who did not rate this book as highly! Contrary to what you mentioned above, I believe there were many grammatical errors (misplaced punctuation and capitalization, etc.).

Well! This really is strange, I'm quite certain I went through the book thoroughly. Still, I guess one can never be too sure. Thanks for sharing your observations and reading the review as well.

Vickie Noel, I had all but forgotten about the coloring page! You're absolutely right about it being a great addition!

For me, this book scored highly for rhyming and offering the parental discussion syllabus. I was disappointed, however, with Puffy's portrayal. He was illustrated differently on most pages. Some pages he had eyelashes; some pages he did not. Some pages he had a pink nose, whereas on others it was grey or white.

Did any of you notice this? I only rated the book 3/4. Do you think the differing Puffys warranted negative impact on the score?

@nlhartje, thank you so much! I can honestly say I took no note of Puffy's exact looks, I was much too engrossed with the words. However, since it's a children's book, the pictures are just as important as the words (coloring page, remember?) so I think its equally imperative that they be consistent. That would come in quite handy during a descriptive class or discussion. Perhaps, it does deserve to lose a mark there. After all, we are striving for perfection for the kids.

Awesome review! I usually find it quite difficult to write a review for such a short book but you did an excellent job here. I also do contemplate about the advantage of stretching a child's vocabulary versus the child not being able to read the book without assistance. I think it is important to give the child words that he can put to use in day to day situations.

I've already read about better pre-birth brain development and learning through music. Book reading, especially by a mum, may make sense to me because a mother and her child couldn't be more connected than at the stage, but it's not commonly found. Colouring isn't for kids alone as well, and it also seems this book's significance goes beyond what's merely obvious. Thank you for your engaging review.
