And Then I Met Margaret is a nonfiction book written by Rob White is suited for all walks of life. He is a businessman, an inspirational speaker, and a teacher who shares his personal experiences. This book is a story of a personal transformation. He is a living testimony from rag to riches.
His humble beginning can motivate to all people who are striving in life for success. How did he manage from nothing to something achievements when in fact he is only a poor child? He is not forcing the reader to do what he does, but he is doing this to motivate the hopeless. What is the story of your childhood days? Can you recall it?
Rob starts this book by his childhood experiences where everyone knows each other. From a town kid destined to take a job in a local factory manages to be a teacher in the major city. He engaged in business, but it does not run smoothly. Someone has influenced him that made him realize the world is not just revolving around him. Could this be Margaret?
I like the way he wrote his memoirs, his character and even the changes of his attitudes. He is honest in his story. The reader will easily relate to his fighting spirit in achieving his dreams. His motivation to discover new things that would reach his dreams inspires me. He had failures and struggles along the way as well. He met different people and learned from their lives. The guru in a particular situation taught him an important lesson in which he uses it as a basis in his life.
The only thing that made me sad in the story was Rob’s unpleasant actions. He became arrogant after being wealthy, but I understand that all of us had different flaws. All of us can commit mistakes and shortcomings, but change is not yet too late. I disagree on some point that our destiny is in our hands.
Each chapter has its own unique story with an inspiring message. The reader will learn something new in every chapter on how he encountered a problem, solved it, and helped someone else. The book was written well and professionally edited. I did not find any grammatical errors or misspelled words. The myths on each chapter draws me to read it continuously. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The life lesson in this book is something to be cherished in our daily journey.
