Despite the errors, I have downloaded today's #BOTD...thank you so much for your insightful review. :-) I love books that tell the story of one's life because there is always something to be learned from another's personal experiences. I'm looking forward to reading this book and I'm excited that there are pictures, too! Putting a face and place to names mentioned is always preferable. Thank you, again!

Fine historical write up. Creating an insight to how things were for the author during the civil right era. The picture descriptions too, makes it more easy to imagine and understand.
Good review.. I will read the memoir. Congrats on BOTD

This sounds like a charming glimpse of history as seen through the eyes of a man with a personal connection to the Civil Rights era. Some of what he writes about is a bit more than I care to know, but I guess I could always skip those parts.

I'm not much of a memoir reader, but this does sound pretty interesting. I like the focus on the Civil Rights era and an African American man's experience during that time period. Thanks for your insight on the book.

The book 'Alien in the Delta' is an interesting book. It shows the story of a black man who is challenged by circumstance and poverty. I love it and would read it over and over again.

I don't normally read memoirs but the personal account of a black man's experiences during the Civil Rights era sounds intriguing.
This post was brought to you by the word "specifically".

Pretty interesting book. It must have taken much confidence to succeed as a black man in the US in those times.

Looks like an interesting memoir...living in a memorable time in history, in the South & serving in the US military overseas. I bet the author does have some exciting tales to tell...will read this after the busy Holidays are over. Thanks for your informative review!
