What was the best book you ever received as a gift?
1) Getting given Heidi by Johanna Spyri as a child and being transported by it. I still think of that book very fondly.
2) Receiving a book of compiled C. S. Lewis quotes, which I go back to again and again!
3) A friend recently bought me a copy of Revelations of Divine Love by Julian of Norwich and it was just what I needed at the time. I found it a really beautiful and encouraging read.
What are your stories of gifted books that made an impact on you?

My husband bought me this as a gift for our 1st wedding anniversary. He is not a reader and had no idea what kind of books to get me, but he was determined to pick one out on his own. He went to the bookstore and ended up asking an employee for some direction into historical fiction, my favorite genre. This was the book he selected and I absolutely love it. It's about a man who becomes part of a time-traveling experiment. As a history buff, I have always thought it would be cool to travel back in time, and it was fascinating to be able to read about that type of experience through the eyes of the character.

I absolutely loved "Redeeming Love." I don't usually read Christian fiction, but this was a recommendation from a friend and I couldn't put it down. Great book!Mjgarrison wrote: ↑06 Dec 2017, 15:25 My son got me Redeeming Love and Atonement child last Christmas. At first I had a hard time getting into them but once I really started reading I couldn't put them down. Now I collect books from the same Author.
