This is great. Your decision making was enriched by the detective stories you read I guessjenjayfromSA wrote:A good detective story is great, especially on a rainy day. They can cover all periods too, not just a modern day police precinct. A couple of my favourites are the "Cat Who" books by Lilian Jackson Braun in which a retired journalist solves crimes with the aid of his two Siamese cats. The other is the Cadfael series by Ellis Peters, where a Benedictine monk in the 14th century pioneers forensic science his way. Some of today's thrillers are gripping too, especially those coming out of the Scandinavian countries.
